Roger Widing

Roger is a fourth-generation builder whose passion for construction began at an early age: “I can vividly remember picking up scrap lumber on my father’s job-sites at the age of six. As I grew my father gave me many tasks that over the years taught me the fundamentals of building.” After studying architecture at Lawrence Technology University, Roger established Widing Custom Homes in his hometown of Fenton, MI during the year 1976. "While many years have passed, the basic principles of hard work; honesty and integrity that my father taught me have continued to be the foundation on which Widing Custom Homes has grown. I am a hands-on builder and am on every one of my job sites daily. I firmly believe in open and honest communication because an informed customer is a happy customer.”

“I build each home as if it was my own with passion, hard work, high standards, pride, and integrity. I do not cut corners. I want to be able to look every customer in the eye and know that I did the best job possible for them.”

Roger and his wife, Karen have resided in Traverse City with daughters, Preston & Paxton, since 1998. Roger and Karen are active in many community fundraising endeavors and enjoy entertaining at their home. Whether it is a neighborhood wine walk, a charity event, an evening with friends, or just relaxing with their daughters, they believe home is where the fondest memories are made.
